Residential Incentives Program
Cash savings today. Energy
savings for your home or business tomorrow!
Electric use varies over each
24-hour period and from one season to another, sometimes causing
heavy electric power demand and peaks. When that happens, our
most economical generating plants work at full capacity. To meet
the heavy demand, we may need to start up less efficient generating
equipment or even purchase electricity from other producers -
and that can be expensive.
This is why Black Hills Power
(BHP) is pleased to offer cash rebates to our customers who purchase
high efficiency heating equipment, water heaters and demand controllers.
The rebates are being offered
to encourage the customer to purchase energy efficient equipment
that results in lower operating costs and a reduced demand on
our electric system - and that benefits both BHP and the customer.
Ask
your electrical, heating and cooling, or building contractor/dealer
about the following rebate programs or simply visit with
our BHP representatives at any BHP
local office.
Demand Controller
Demand Controllers
level out the peaks and valleys in your electric usage by deferring energy loads during peak demand hours. Owners of Demand Control units installed by a BHP certified electrician qualify for special energy rates from Black Hills Power that can save them up to 30 percent annually on energy costs.
Customer incentives and guidelines:
- Customer receives a certified installation rebate of $250 if demand controller is installed by a certified licensed electrician from BHP's Certified Installer List.
- 0 percent financing through Pay-By-Bank payment option is available to qualifying customers
- Rebate is approved after BHP Service Technician inspects and approved installation by certified installer
- Click Certified Installer List (PDF) for list of certified contractors approved by BHP
