Your Electric Payment Options

At Black Hills Power we offer the following ways for you to pay your electric bill:

  • Pay your bill online - If you have the need for speed when it comes to paying your bill, our new billing option is just right for you. Black Hills Power's new SpeedPay service gives you the option to pay your monthly bill with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover) or by check for a $4.95 service convenience fee.   • Pay your bill by Phone via SpeedPay - To pay your bill using our SpeedPay service you may call the toll-free number at 1-866-499-3942. Black Hills Power's new SpeedPay service gives you the option to pay your monthly bill with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover) or by check for a $4.95 service convenience fee.   • Pay your bill by Phone via Customer Service Representative - To pay your bill by personal check with no fees, please call your local Customer Service Representative during regular business hours.
  • Pay in person - at any BHP district office during regular business hours.
    Rapid City Office: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:30PM
    All other District Offices: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 12:00PM and 1:00PM - 5:00PM.
  • Banking Institutions - You may pay at most banking institutions in the Black Hills area by presenting your payment stub at the time of payment.

  • You can mail your payment along with billing stub to:

  • Paid By Bank - You may elect to have your bill automatically deducted from your checking or savings account by signing up for Paid By Bank. With your authorization, the exact amount of your bill will be automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account each month. You are guaranteed an on-time payment even when you are away from home. You also have a 10 day period to stop the payment withdrawal if you question the bill. You will still receive your monthly bill showing the amount that will be withdrawn from your checking or savings account and the bill will have the following message: Your Bank will Pay the Account Balance on (date due).   • Levelized Billing - With this program you are billed an average of your twelve most recent bills and an adjustment factor that will levelize each month's bill. Levelized Billing offers you the convenience of small changes to your electric billing amount from month-to-month, no matter how much the outside temperature changes or how much energy you may use each month.
