A necessary first step in designing a quality residential HVAC system is conducting a proper Manual J8 load calculation. This is a 4-day comprehensive course designed to provide residential HVAC professionals with a thorough understanding of how to apply ACCA Manual J, 8th Edition load calculation procedures to a residential design process; and how to accurately determine the input values for modern load calculation software.
* This course, or similar load calculation training, is mandatory if you plan to attend HVAC Training Module II – Properly Sizing and Installing Ductwork, whichBlack Hills Power will be offering later this year. Participants will receive 27 NATE credit hours upon successful completion of this training.

Performance Standard: To successfully complete this exam, the participant must attain an overall score of 70 percent or higher.

Instructor John P. Jackson, Alabama Power Company, is an Alabama Board of Heating and A/C Certified Contractor. He has been in the HVAC field since 1977 and has been involved in the training, application, installation and trouble shooting of HVAC equipment since 1988. He is NATE certified in Air Distribution and Heat Pumps and is an ACCA Certified Instructor.
Cost:
Module I is valued at over $1200 and Black Hills Power is offering the complete 4-day course, including load calculation software, for only $450 per person.
The software alone costs $425!
