High Efficiency Heat Pumps
Program Description
This program offers rebates to Black Hills Power residential customers when they replace or upgrade their heating and cooling equipment with high efficiency heat pumps. BHP also offers its residential customers a rebate for retro-commissioning an air source heat pump once every five years.
Eligible Measures
An air source heat pump must be 1-5 tons in capacity, with a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) of 15 and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.5. A geothermal heat pump must be 1-5 tons in capacity, with an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 16.5 and a Coefficient of Performance of (COP) of 3.6.
